Envision Central Texas Community Presentation - Tuesday, January 17, 6:30 p.m. at Hendrickson High School Performing Arts Center at 2905 FM 685. Choice or Fate? The Future of Growth in Pflugerville.
Purpose: Growth is coming to Pflugerville! What does this mean to us? How is it managed to benefit families, businesses, and prospective newcomers? Join the City Council along with other community and city leaders for an evening of information and discussion. The City of Pflugerville will welcome John Langmore, Transportation and Land Use Consultant & board member of Envision Central Texas to present information to our community regarding the regional principles associated with Envision Central Texas. Scott Polikov, a town planner with Gateway Planning, will also conduct a presentation on the principles of planning town centers and neighborhoods in the face of impending growth. Neighborhoods Planning Meeting - To Stop a Sexually Oriented Business on Grand Avenue to be hosted by involved neighborhoods at 7pm at Heatherwilde HOA Clubhouse at 16800 Cactus Blossom at Heatherwilde.
Purpose: a sexually oriented business has received a permit to build on Grand Ave, in Austin's ETJ west of the Pflugerville city limits. Many in the Pflugerville area are concerned about the negative economic impact this could have on their home values, quality of life, and their children's safety. A number of Pflugerville area HOAs and churches are working together to collect signatures from their residents to let developer and government agencies know they don't want his topless bar built. County Commissioner - Precinct 2, Karen Sonleitner (karen.sonleitner@co.travis.tx.us), has also written a letter to developer expressing opposition to development and opposition organizers may be speaking to Pflugerville City Council about issue at Feb. 21st Council meeting.
