PfCONA is Seeking Business/Organization Sponsors for Welcome to Pflugerville Project

***** ***** UPDATED NEWS RELEASE ***** ***** UPDATED NEWS RELEASE ***** *****

The Welcome to Pflugerville Project*, sponsored by the Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations (PfCONA) and the Pflugerville Police Department the past few years, is asking for your assistance in finding additional sponsors for this community-building effort.

If you have personal business relationships with a local business or organization that you think might be interested, we would appreciate if you can forward this E-mail to them or let us know.  Below is an overview of our program. - Thank you.

  • PfCONA has developed the Welcome to Pflugerville Project to welcome every new resident to the Pflugerville area. PfCONA is looking for area businesses to become a proud sponsor to keep this effort going and to show they are open for business, downtown businesses are, and those in the city as a whole.

  • The goals of this project are to: welcome every new person to Pflugerville; educate them about Crime Prevention, related citizen training, and introduce them to their local police force; provide Voter Registration cards; and, to make new residents aware of local shopping opportunities and community organization services--to give them a good impression of Pflugerville.

  • The welcome kits are delivered by Pflugerville police officers on weekends as time allows, as part of their community policing effort, including promotion of home security surveys and neighborhood watch. Deliveries of kits average about 100-150 per month.

  • Sponsorships to make this effort possible are available in two levels:

    • $75 for 500 kits (25% discount from $100)

    • $150 for 1000 kits (25% discount from $200)

  • Businesses are encouraged to provide some form of advertising or coupon or welcome message to be placed in the information packet that will be delivered with each kit. Advertising can be just about anything. Previous sponsors have provided 3"x3" magnets, used card stock, used colored paper, used color ink, or a simple black text on white 8.5" x 11" paper. We respectively request nothing larger than 8.5" x 11". We prefer something that will fit within a regular business size envelope. The best size is less than 4" by less than 9". Anything that is 8.5" x 11" needs to be pre-folded in a tri-fold manner.

  • Checks may be made payable to PfCONA

  • Generally, advertisements and checks will be picked up by PfCONA officers.

  • Our project is describe in more detail at our webpage: www.pfcona.org/MugProject.htm

We would like advertisements available for pick up by Friday, Nov. 4th.   However, if that date does not work for you, please contact me and we can discuss what will.

The PfCONA Welcome to Pflugerville Project contact is Jeff Sims, PfCONA Vice Chair. He can be reached at 835-3353 (work) or 670-9636 (home) or jssims@cox.net.
