Items being collected for disaster victims at PHS, Sat., 9am, and Tue-Sat at Falcon Pointe Residents' Club (pass E-mail on)

Pflugerville citizens and neighborhood leaders,

Pardon the daily E-mails due to the sense of urgency (see PfCONA website and blog for any further Hurricane Katrina relief updates, unless more E-mails are necesssary).

For those of you getting this E-mail in time, Anne Wenneson, cdwenn@sbcglobal.net, local resident, has arranged for a truck/trailer to stop at the Pflugerville High School, on FM 1825, Saturday morning. Sept. 3rd, at 9AM. She is planning to leave at 12:30 PM for San Antonio to Salvation Army to drop off items collected.

The list below of what is being collected was announced at a meeting she attended on Friday, Sept. 2nd, of CTXVOAD (Central TX Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, which includes United Way, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Capital Area Food Bank, etc.):

-No clothes except NEW socks and underwear
-Nonperishable food, preferably industrial size
-Baby formula, diapers, and ointment for babies
-Flash lights, batteries
-Plastic gloves
-Personal hygiene and feminine hygiene items

Also, Falcon Pointe Residents' Club at 19015 Falcon Pointe Blvd. right off Kelly Lane has a drop off for the above listed items from Tuesday thru Saturday between 10am to 6pm. Clubhouse Phone: 670-1400. Items will initially be delivered on Sept. 7th (and after that if necessary) to local charity assisting disaster victims.

The Storehouse food pantry has also been providing food to victims coming in to Pflugerville and Austin.
