Pflugerville has lost another young warrior in Iraq. On behalf of PfCONA Executive Committee and membership, I request that neighborhood leaders and residents encourage your friends, associates, and organizations to attend funeral services for Spc. Yari Mokri, U.S. Army, Saturday, December 16th, at 10am at the Cook Walden funeral home in Pflugerville. If you cannot, please stand along the processional route with a U.S. flag or fly our national flag at your home and/or office. Spc. Mokri was part of the 25th Infantry Division, a 1998 graduate of Pflugerville High School. He was killed in action in Iraq on Wednesday, December 6th.

Note: Forward this E-mail throughout the community.

Subject: attendance at Spc Mokri's services Saturday

Please encourage your personal, social, business, and organizational friends to attend the funeral services of Spc.Yari Mokri, US Army, this Saturday, December 16th at 10am at the Cook Walden funeral home in Pflugerville.

It is important that the citizens of Pflugerville express our sympathy to the Mokri family during this very difficult period. The Mokri family is modest and private, and perhaps somewhat skeptical that there will be a large turnout at Yari's funeral. Saturday, we have the opportunity to embrace them in our community's arms and overwhelmingly demonstrate our appreciation to them.

It is equally important that our community also reaffirm our support for our men and women serving in our Armed Forces. We have all witnessed the pride and patriotism surging among our young people. Spc. Mokri was one of our these who answered the call of Pflugerville's Tradition of Service. Tragically, his family must now suffer Pflugerville's Tradition of Sacrifice.

The funeral home may not accommodate all of us who mourn the loss of another of Pflugerville's sons. So let us stand with respect along the interior roads of the cemetery, holding our national flags, as Spc. Mokri is carried to his final rest.

Please forward this call to action on to your friends and organizations. Thank you.

Mike: We will do everything possible to engender respect to the family and to honor our own fallen warrior. Just let us know and we will pass on information to neighborhood leaders and others on our list, including mention at tomorrow night's PfCONA Town Meeting that the information is coming. - Rod

The Department of Defense will return Spc. Mokri to Pflugerville during the middle of this week, accompanied by an Honor Guard from the 25th Division. Funeral services will be decided by the Mokri family early this week, and most probably will occur Friday or Saturday. Understandably, the Mokri family is sequestered in mourning. However, a family spokesman will provide details regarding arrangements as they are decided.
I am contacting the leaders in our community to ask for your support of the Mokri family. Our community's support for the families of Pflugerville's Fallen Warriors is well established. Now, it is appropriate that Pflugerville demonstrate our sympathy and respect to the Mokri family. Please encourage your friends, associates, and organizations to attend services for Spc. Mokri, or stand along the processional route, or fly our national flag at their homes and offices.
I will provide you with more details regarding the schedule of services as they are provided. Please don't hesitate to contact me at 809-3990 (cell) or 251-2222 (home). If you have suggestions about how our community can demonstrate our sympathy and support for the Mokri family, please share them.
Thank you.
