PfCONA 8/14 Town Meeting - Toll Roads, Helping Seniors, History Project, and Windermere Utility Rates

What: PfCONA TOWN MEETING
When: Monday, August 14th, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm or so*
Where: Pflugerville Justice Center, 1611 E. Pfennig Ln.
Why: To bring together Pflugerville area residents and civic leaders* for dialogue and updates on important neighborhood/community issues
How: Make the choice to be there to participate--bring a neighbor
Cost: None. Speakers, hospitality, parking, lighting, 60-90 chairs, A/C, and restrooms are included. *Come early to meet/chat with speakers/participants.

Featured speakers are (in 10-30+ minute segments):
James Whittmeyer, Texas Tollways Public Information Coordinator:
Texas Tollways wishes to keep motorists in our area informed about its progress and what it means for them by speaking with residents, business men and women, elected officials, and other civic leaders in the community. A short presentation and video about the new roads and the TxTag electronic toll collection system will be shown. This timely speaker spoke at GPCC Chamber Chatter luncheon on August 8th as well.

Serita Lacasse, Faith in Action Pflugerville Caregivers Executive Director:
Pflugerville Caregivers is seeking to partner with neighborhood associations to spread the word that many seniors in our area need help. Learn how your household and neighborhood could make a difference.


Vernagene Mott, Oral History Project Team:
The Friends of the Library & Heritage House Museum collaborated and received a grant to do an oral history project with Pflugerville folks. PfCONA Communication Committee helped with some videotaping. Team has finished the interview process and are presently in the writing stage with the end product being a book. A brief presentation of the project will be given and questions entertained. Come a little bit early to view table display.
Bill Jasura, Windermere Utility Vice President:
Will introduce himself and entertain questions and concerns regarding proposed rate increase that would affect 16 Pflugerville area neighborhoods. This segment will more than likely extend beyond 8:30pm.

PfCONA's efforts include being a clearinghouse of information for the Pflugerville community and to foster collaborative efforts, workgroups, and forums to develop solutions for the community. PfCONA, a network of 40 area neighborhoods, has been working for the community for the past 21 years and counting.
